The GameCodePlus support assistant

GameCodePlus runs an automated support assistant in its Discord server. It answers questions about HeroQuest Revived and other GameCodePlus tools using approved GameCodePlus documentation. This notice explains what it reads, what it keeps, and who can see it.

This notice covers the Discord assistant only. Thewebsite privacy notice covers gamecodeplus.com.

Current status

The assistant is not yet answering in the GameCodePlus Discord. It is in supervised testing: drafted answers are reviewed privately by GameCodePlus and nothing is posted to players. This notice describes how the assistant handles information once it is enabled, and will be reviewed again before it replies publicly.

What it reads

The assistant reads messages in the specific channels GameCodePlus has enabled for it, and direct messages sent to it by current members of the server. It does not read other channels, private conversations between members, or anything outside the GameCodePlus Discord.

It processes message text only. It does not download attachments, and does not interpret images, audio, or video. Please do not send it anything you would not want stored as text, and keep personal information out of logs and screenshots you paste.

The channels it participates in are chosen by GameCodePlus rather than by individual members. If you would rather not have your messages handled this way, use a channel the assistant is not enabled in.

What it keeps, and for how long

Questions, the surrounding messages needed to understand them, and any unpublished draft answers are stored on GameCodePlus hardware for at most 72 hours, then deleted. This includes copies held for review or queued while the assistant is offline.

Two things last longer, deliberately:

  • Operational records. Message identifiers, timestamps, the versions of the documentation used, the identifiers of any replies the assistant posted, and deletion markers. These are kept so the assistant does not answer the same question twice or resurrect deleted material. They are still protected information and still subject to deletion requests.
  • Approved documentation entries. When a question reveals a gap in the documentation, GameCodePlus may write and approve a short factual entry so the assistant can answer it in future. These entries are product facts, reviewed and approved by a person before they are saved. They are not transcripts, and they do not identify who asked.

Who can see your messages

Your messages are not processed only by software. When the assistant cannot answer a question from approved documentation, it forwards that question — with the context needed to understand it — to the GameCodePlus team privately, so a person can respond or improve the documentation. This applies to direct messages as well as channel messages.

Treat a support conversation with the assistant as a conversation that GameCodePlus can read. It is not a private or confidential channel, and it is not a route for reporting security issues, account problems, or anything sensitive.

How answers are produced

Answers are generated on GameCodePlus hardware. Your messages are not sent to a third-party AI service, and they are not used to train AI models. The assistant answers only when approved GameCodePlus documentation supports the question; when it does not, it stays silent in channels and says so in direct messages rather than guessing.

Answers are automated and can be wrong or out of date. Nothing the assistant says is a release promise, a commitment on behalf of GameCodePlus, or a substitute for the publishedplayer guides.

Deleting your information

Deleting your own Discord message removes it from the assistant's local store as well. Editing it updates what the assistant holds.

To ask GameCodePlus to delete anything else it holds about you, or to ask what it holds, send a message to the GameCodePlus team on Discord. Deletions are applied to backups and exports too; removed material is not restored later.

Discord itself keeps your messages underDiscord's own privacy policy, which GameCodePlus does not control. Deleting information from the assistant does not delete it from Discord.

Changes to this notice

This notice will be revised before the assistant is enabled for players, before it participates in additional channels, and before any change to what it stores or how long it stores it.
